Chard Development is an urban real estate development firm based in Vancouver, B.C. An award-winning company, we specialize in urban, mid-sized residential condominium, rental, and commercial projects in Metro Vancouver and Greater Victoria. Located in downtown Vancouver, Chard Development is steadily growing with approximately 10 projects in pre-development or construction at any given time. As of mid-2019, Chard has completed over 1.3 million square feet of its own signature developments. Taylor Ryan have partnered with Chard to find them a Development Analyst to support their Finance and Development Team.


The Analyst will assist with proforma and cash flow preparation, financial analysis and corporate reporting. The successful candidate will work with the Finance Team and report the Senior Development Analyst. The role will also provide support during the completion stage of residential construction, and report to the VP of Operations during this time. This position provides an excellent opportunity to be directly involved with acquisitions, valuation and costing analysis, stakeholder reporting, and market research, while gaining valuable experience and insight into the real estate development industry.


The Analyst will also update and maintain active project proforma and cash flows to support the Finance Team with decision making and reporting and assist the Finance Team with ad hoc financial analysis to support key project decisions. The Analyst will provide monthly updates on actual project cash flows versus budgeted and assist with monthly reporting to management and investors. They will underwrite prospective acquisitions and create proformas and profitability analysis based on redevelopment potential. Part of this position will also require the Analyst to support the development team through the completion stage of the residential construction.


To be a fit for this role you will have a bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance, Urban Land Economics or a related field with a minimum of 1-2 years of work experience within the areas of real estate development or finance is required. You will have experience in advanced financial modelling in Excel and preference will be given to candidates with experience with Argus Developer software. You must have strong research and critical thinking skills, coupled with a strong work ethic and ability to perform duties in an accurate, professional and timely manner. You will work well in a team environment and be a collaborative communicator across the business.
