One of Canada’s fastest growing construction focused businesses is currently searching for an individual who is interested in a long-term career opportunity as a Payroll and Benefits Specialist. The position will be joining a young, dynamic team who are currently managing the payroll requirements of a growing, 1200-person business.

The Payroll and Benefits Specialist will be responsible for the processing of wages and benefits for the hourly employees, which currently make up the majority of the workforce. As required, there may be some overflow of processing salaried staff members within the company. The role will be working closely with the finance team to ensure that all the employee payroll and benefits are processed in a timely and accurate manner, in accordance with the company objectives. Due to considerable growth within the business, there are fantastic long-term opportunities for career development.

To be a success in this role you will ideally have three years of experience in payroll and have a passion for working in a specialist role. You will have a strong understanding of how payroll systems operate and how general benefits programs should be administered. Preference will be given to candidates who have inter-provincial experience with provincial legislation and have a broad understanding of the difference between them. You will have strong experience in Microsoft Office, particularly with Microsoft Excel.
