Reporting to the VP of Investments, the Director, Real Estate Acquisitions, is accountable for the management of all aspects of an acquisition portfolio of projects within their region. This role will act as either the Client or the Client Representative on most projects. The Director, Real Estate Acquisitions, is fully proficient with the technical, leadership, and communication skills required to complete multiple major project acquisitions and has a deep network of connections within the local Vancouver market. They will be responsible for the critical early-stage phases of the project lifecycle, including Project Planning, Acquisition and Procurement, Financial Analysis, Structuring and Legal Negotiations.
The Director, Real Estate Acquisitions will be responsible for seeking out new opportunities and deals, recognizing and understanding market restrictions (land, zoning, etc.) and opportunities. They will create a network of client connections to front-run project opportunities, influence key decision makers within Gracorp and the Graham Group. In doing this the Director will possess advanced business development skills in seeking out new client relationships and projects that correlate to Gracorp and the strengths. A key part of the role will be to assess the front-end dynamics (economics, resourcing, probability of success, etc.) of a project prior to acquisition, ensuring that it can be a successful and profitable opportunity for development.
To be a success in this position, you will ideally have over ten years of local real estate development experience, having successfully acquired projects in the $20M – $100M range. You will be a professional and personable leader who is well connected and capable of generating new business leads. You will have a proven track record of formally leading successful projects, acting as the driving force and vision behind their completion, and building a successful, profitable business or business division.
