A local manufacturing business are currently searching for a Controller to lead their accounting requirements in Surrey. As a mid-sized firm, the company is looking for a well-rounded manufacturing controller who is comfortable working in a hands-on leadership role that will add considerable value to the business.
As a broad business leadership role within the business, the successful candidate will be able to see the big picture and develop a strong understanding of the business, and how best to optimize its processes. They will be responsible for completing all the business insurance and banking and ensuring that the company is compliant with all reporting requirements. In evaluating the operational accounting, the Controller will be responsible for the cost accounting and bring a wealth of analytical skills to effectively support management decisions.
Day to day operational responsibilities will include the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements (ACCPAC) for operating companies and the role will be responsible for credit and inventory control and operational accountability. You will manage the sales and payroll tax returns, including GST, PST, EDC and supervise receivables, and payroll/payables for staff. You will build a strong understanding of the cost accounting system and provide management with reports as required.
To be suitable for this role you will ideally have at least ten years of accounting experience, taking on increasing levels of responsibility. You will have your CPA designation or equivalent and be comfortable excelling in a mid-sized team. You will be able to build on the current processes and refine them as required to expedite and improve the business.
