Our client, a leading wealth management firm, is looking to hire a Controller, Asset Management to join their growing team.

In this role you will be responsible for the administration and operations of a diverse portfolio of proprietary mutual funds and limited partnerships. You will play a key leadership role in the day to day financial operations of the firm’s mutual funds and limited partnerships. This role will require oversight of both the fund accounting team and the real estate fund accounting team and will report directly into the Director Finance, Asset Management. The Controller will have 3 managers that report to them.

Some of the key responsibilities in this role include frequent NAV and distribution calculations, investor trade settlement, completion of underlying investment documentation, including tax/legal reviews, and both internal management reporting as well as external client reporting. You will also need to develop the budget for the real estate division of the firm, and will work closely with the Director to set and improve policies and procedures to help ensure the highest level of accuracy and integrity of financial data of the firm.

The ideal candidate will have strong fund accounting experience paired with a professional accounting designation, and 10 years of progressive accounting experience. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience in real estate however it is not a must-have for this position. Excellent written and verbal communications are an absolute must in this complex environment.
